In January 2012, the Executive Board of the World Health Organization approved resolution EB130.R12, which supports the official establishment of a World Immunization Week during the last week of April as an overarching framework for all Regional initiatives. This resolution will now be brought before the Sixty-fifth World Health Assembly in May 2012.
