PAHO continues to facilitate the relationship between the Donation and Transplant Institute (DTI) in Spain and the National Organ Transplant Unit in NOTU, by hosting virtual meetings and facilitating the transfer of knowledge that continues to occur through guidance training and other means. Repsol Foundation granted TTD 3 million dollars to the Donation Transplantation Institute (DTI) of Spain to implement, together with NOTU, the Organ Donation and Transplantation Network of Deceased Donors. The relationship between DTI and NOTU has already been fruitful, with doctors from all the major hospitals in Trinidad and Tobago being trained in Transplant Procurement Management in October 2012, and the completion of two deceased donor transplants in Trinidad since that time.
