The Department of Health (DH) asked the Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants (COMEAP) to advise on the possible effects of outdoor air pollutants on cardiovascular disease in the UK. The Committee formed a Sub-Group which reviewed the literature in detail and drafted this report. The report has been agreed by the Committee.
