“The Art of Knowledge Exchange Primer is for government officials and development practitioners who are involved in such knowledge exchanges. Identifying the right partners, planning for the exchange, making it happen and sharing the lessons can all be a major undertaking. This Primer takes the guesswork out of the process, by breaking the complexity of knowledge sharing lifecycle into simple steps and summarizing good practices…”

We are currently producing the 2nd edition of the Art of Knowledge Exchange Planning Guide Book – a practical guide for Knowledge Exchange Practitioners. In this new edition we want to showcase practitioners’perspectives from around the world: what worked, what didn’t, and what you would have done differently.

Who can particiapte?
participate if you have…

  • Connected development practitioners to new information and opportunities within countries, across countries, and regions
  • Encouraged innovation and sharing of practical experience
  • Inspired collaboration between development actors
  • Facilitated new methods for capacity development
  • Catalyzed the way other practitioners do development

If you are a development practitioner, work for an international organization, philanthropic organization, non-governmental organization, educational institution or a private sector foundation/institution, you may apply.

What is in it for you?
A number of these good practices will be profiled (in part or fully) in the new edition of the World Bank’s Art of Knowledge Exchange Planning Guide Book. The stories will also become part of an internal library of knowledge exchange. All selected participants will receive copies of the new edition of the Art of Knowledge Exchange. …”

Reunión de Alto Nivel en Bali: “Hacia centros de conocimiento dirigidos por los países”


Según el Banco Mundial: “WASHINGTON, 10 de julio de 2012 – Al menos 290 gestores de políticas y delegados de 46 países se reunieron hoy en Bali para la Reunión de Alto Nivel sobre Cooperación Sur-Sur, bajo el tema ” Hacia centros de conocimiento dirigidos por los países”.

El objetivo de la reunión es impulsar el intercambio de conocimiento en el contexto de la cooperación Sur-Sur.  La conferencia se examina las oportunidades, desafíos y experiencias en el desarrollo y la creación de instituciones que pueden actuar como ‘Centros de Conocimiento ‘ – centros que pueden compilar experiencias y crear una red más sistemática de los expertos de intercambio de conocimientos “, dijo el Ministro Armida Alisjahbana de la Agencia de Planificación del Desarrollo Nacional de Indonesia.

El Ministro Alisjahbana explicó además que el intercambio de conocimientos es un instrumento clave en la consecución de los objetivos de desarrollo, y en el fortalecimiento de la capacidad nacional. Los países en desarrollo ofrecen muchas de las mejores prácticas que pueden ser adaptadas a los desafíos del desarrollo, el reto es cómo aprender y compartir información acerca de estas mejores prácticas.  … “

Global South-South Development Expo (GSSD Expo) – (19 – 23 November 2012)

The Global South-South Development Expo (GSSD Expo) is the an Expo solely from the South and for the South. It showcases successful Southern-grown development solutions (SDSs) to address the need to meet Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It is designed as a concrete response to the strong commitment made by the Secretary-General and the UNDP Administrator to help the global South realize its shared aspirations for achieving sustainable and equitable development through the sharing and transfer of SDSs, with the support of the donor community and the multilateral system under innovative triangular and public-private partnership (PPP) arrangements. It also constitutes one of the Special Unit’s three global and United Nations system-wide South-South support platforms.
