New publication with lessons learned from South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the Iberoamerican context

New publication available from the Iberoamerican Program to Strengthen South-South Cooperation, which is entitled “Sistematizar  para aprender: Lecciones de nueve experiencias de Cooperación Sur-Sur y Triangular” (translated into English: “Sistematize to learn:  Lessons from nine South-South and Triangular Cooperation Experiences”).  Currently the publication is only available in Spanish.

PAHO supports Honduran Health Secretariat by facilitating visit from external expert in the management of intoxication due to adulterated alcohol

Según la oficina de la OPS en Honduras: “Comayagua, 6-8 julio 2012. El Dr. Jesús Marín, Director Nacional de Salud Ambiental y Toxicología de la Secretaría  de Salud de Nicaragua fue movilizado por la OPS/OMS en Honduras para apoyar en el tratamiento de los pacientes afectados por la ingesta de alcohol adulterado con metanol en la zona central del país. Este brote registró hasta la actualidad, 52 personas afectadas, (98% hombres), 25 vivos y 27 fallecidos. La procedencia de los pacientes afectados incluye a los municipios de: Taulabé, Siguatepeque, Comayagua, El Rosario. …”

Brazil’s Program for Decentralized South-South Cooperation

Brazil is launching a new program to identify and finance international cooperation projects that will be implemented by states and municipalities of Brazil with other developing countries. It is  South-South Cooperation, but a decentralized version.  The project aims to share successful public policies at sub-national levels. Brazilian states and municipalites can submit project proposals, based on requests from beneficiary countries, from June 29th to August 31st. Continue reading »
