The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), in collaboration with the Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) in Chile, and the Ibero-American Network of Health Promoting Universities (RIUPS) are pleased to announce the opening of the First Ibero-American Contest on Good Health Promotion Practices in Universities and Higher Education Institutions.
Objectives The main purpose of this contest is to acknowledge good work in promoting health in universities settings in the Americas, Spain and Portugal.
Terms and Conditions Participating universities must show at least 6 months of experience implementing health promotion programs. For details about the contest, please check the publication entitled Terms and Conditions for the First Ibero-American Contest on Good Practices for Health Promoting Universities.
Awards In addition of national recognitions, an international jury will select one winners under each of the following award categories:
- Interventions on lifestyles (diet, alcohol, physical activity, injury prevention, tobacco use, sexual health, addictions, etc.)
- Healthy environments at the university campus
- Promoting health through community outreach
- National Health Promoting Universities Network
Both national and international winners will received an official diploma. In addition, all winning experiences will be documented and disseminated through PAHO's website and social media channels. Also, the four international winners will be acknowledge with a commemorative plate signed by the Director of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization.
