More than 4,600 health facilities are participants in PAHO/WHO’s “Save lives: clean your hands” campaign
Washington, D.C., 6 May 2013 (PAHO/WHO) — Nearly 1,200 hospitals and other health facilities in Latin America and the Caribbean and more than 3,400 in North America are calling on patients and family members to join healthcare workers in promoting hand hygiene to help reduce healthcare-associated infections.
Getting Ready for the Save Lives: Wash Your Hands Campaign on May 5th, 2013
Activities in support the Save Lives: Clean Your Hands Campaign have always been promoted as 'on or around 5 May' to ensure all health-care workers have the opportunity to take part in important hand hygiene awareness-raising activities. Hand hygiene monitoring and feedback and encouraging patient participation in hand hygiene promotion are the twin goals for the 2013 SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands campaign.

La OPS/OMS en Colombia y el Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social (MSPS) celebraron El Día Mundial de Higiene de Manos “Una atención limpia es una atención más segura”, para seguir supervisando la higiene de las manos e informando al respecto, y haciendo un llamado, de nuevo, a “Los pacientes también tienen voz”.
