Cuba has joined the initiative with the Cotorro community. Cotorro is a
municipality located on the outskirts of the Havana Province, covering
an area of 65.7 square km. This community was selected because of the
innovative way in which the socioeconomic vulnerability challenges have
been address.
The community is a suburban area and sets an example for its high
coverage of health services and low morbidity and mortality rates. Some
examples of good practices are the Maternity Homes, Grandparents House
and Psycho-Pedagogical Centers.
