Dr. Lloyd Webb, PAHO/WHO Sub-regional Advisor on Veterinary Public Health stationed at the Office of Caribbean Program Coordination, is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health at Tuskegee University. He later studied at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health for a Masters of Public Health, specializing in epidemiology.
He served as a field veterinarian in the Ministry of Agriculture in his native Trinidad and Tobago and later as Director of Veterinary Public Health in the Ministry of Health. In 1994, he went to the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of the West Indies where he lectured and conducted research in Veterinary Public Health.
In February 2001 Dr. Webb joined the Pan American Health Organization where he has provided support for the delivery of technical cooperation to the English-speaking Caribbean in the field of Veterinary Public Health through planning, organizing and managing of veterinary public health matters in food safety, animal health and production, and prevention and control of zoonoses (animal diseases shared by man and animals).
