| The eSAC Project Launches its Website and Innovation Contest |
|
The website will serve as a virtual community that supports communication, knowledge management and capacity building activities across the intersection between Public eHealth and equity in health in the LAC region. The website will be used to: disseminate information on the project; include links to external resources related to Public eHealth and equity in health; present training materials developed in the context of the proposed initiative; and exchange ideas and opportunities related to specific public health challenges and the role of ICTs in the region. The website launch event featured a live webinar with main speaker, Dr. Alex Jadad, Chief Innovator and Founder at the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation, Canada. Other key speakers included Marcelo D'Agostino, Manager for Knowledge, Management and Communications at the Pan American Health Organization, and Chaitali Sinha from the International Research Development Centre.
eSAC also took the opportunity to promote its innovation competition, where individuals, teams and institutions in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region were invited to submit proposals for the development of highly innovative, effective, and low-cost Public eHealth Interventions.
