Health Care Social Media in Latin America (#hcsmla), an online group that promotes health care dialogue through social media, hosted a conversation in Twitter on Tuesday, 24 January, where guest presenter David Novillo (@davidnovillo), advisor on knowledge management and organizational learning at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), answered questions about eHealth. 

On Tuesday, 17 January, at its headquarters in Washington, DC, the Organization of the American States (OAS) held a debate in which three technology and telecommunications experts debated, “hemispheric cooperation to promote access to technology”.

The objective of the eHealth Strategy and Plan of Action (2012-2017) is to help ensure the sustainable development of the Member States’ health systems, including veterinary public health.

The Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) will support countries in the hemisphere in developing public policies in the areas of health information and communication technologies, also known as eHealth, as part of a strategy approved today by PAHO’s 51st Directing Council.
