The International Committee of Experts (ICE), responsible for
documenting and verifying the elimination of measles, rubella, and
congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) in the Americas, agreed to recommend
to member countries of the Pan American Health Organization/World
(PAHO/WHO) they implement actions such as the constant monitoring of
populations yet to be vaccinated against measles and rubella and the
evaluation of surveillance systems for measles-rubella, to improve the
quality of reporting and investigation of cases.
