2 March 2012 Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Epidemiological Alerts In 2011 and the start of 2012, an increase in pertussis cases has been reported in several countries of the Region, with cases predominantly in adolescents and newborns. In light of this situation, the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) reiterates the recommendations issued by the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on Vaccine-Preventable Diseases during their XIX Meeting in July 2011.
