Challenges Posed by the HIV Epidemic in Latin America and the Caribbean

"Through its Strategic Fund, PAHO provides support to the prediction of products, strengthening the drug supply system and the purchase of ARVs and other drugs used to treat opportunistic infections related to AIDS. Twenty countries in the region have signed agreements to participate in the Strategic Fund so far and 11 have used this mechanism for the purchase of ARVs in 2008. "
