application of insecticidesWorking together to find alternatives to DDT: The objective of this interprogrammatic project between the PAHO malaria and environmental health programs, in collaboration with United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and the Global Environmental Fund (GEF), is to prevent the reintroduction of DDT for malaria control through the demonstration and evaluation of alternative and integrated methods of vector control that are cost effective, replicable, and sustainable.
