We catalyze sustainable improvements that rest on policies and practices informed by research evidence for the Americas.
Objectives

To work with Member States to strengthen their national health research systems, a critical component of their health systems and their public health systems.

To coordinate the research governance within PAHO in support of technical cooperation.
This program contributes to PAHO's goal of attaining equitable health and development for people in the Americas by working with Member States to strengthen their national health research systems, and by coordinating the research governance within PAHO in support of technical cooperation.

Main lines of action: The Research and Development Program has two main lines of action. One is to strengthen national health research systems (NHRS) and another is to coordinate research governance within PAHO.
