Get involved: internship opportunities
The Workers’ Health program seeks talented interns with an avid interest in occupational and environmental health and safety, global health, and health policy. Internships are held in PAHO’s Washington, DC office and are typically four months in duration. Interns have gained invaluable experience in helping to improve working conditions in the Americas. Examples of projects that interns have completed include:

Preventing occupational transmission of infectious diseases among health care workers

Developing a regional network on occupational safety and health

Preventing and controlling occupational cancer

Organizing the inaugural and subsequent Hispanic Forum on Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety

Assisting in the preparation and publication of the PAHO Regional Plan on Workers’ Health

Developing a Workers’ Health website to increase knowledge and awareness on occupational health and safety
