About New Vaccines
The first decade of the twenty first century has been the most productive in the history of new vaccine development due to the use of innovative manufacturing technology, growing support from public-private product development partnerships, and new funding resources and mechanisms. Since 2000, new life-saving vaccines include two vaccines against rotavirus; and the first conjugate vaccine against the pneumococcus bacterium.
