PAHO's Assistant Director, Dr. Socorro Gross paid a courtesy visit to the President of Honduras, Porfirio Lobo Sosa, on 17 August. During this meeting, the President confirmed that honduras will participate in the United Nations High Level Meeting on Non Communicable Diseases, to be held in New York on 19-20 September 2011. Dr. Gross went to the meeting with Dr. Arturo Bendaña, Health Secretary of Honduras, and Dr. Gina Watson, PAHO’s Representative in the country.
