El propósito de este encuentro internacional es facilitar un espacio de ciencia e interculturalidad, donde la evidencia disponible pueda ser aplicada al diseño de políticas, programas y planes destinados a alcanzar los mayores niveles de salud para los pueblos indígenas, así como también promover el diálogo y el intercambio de saberes, conocimientos y experiencias entre los ministerios de salud, la comunidad científica, las agencias de cooperación y los pueblos indígenas sobre la vinculación entre los resultados de investigación, la información de salud intercultural y la toma de decisiones.
