Guía de Recursos para la Triangulación del VIH, 2009

El enfoque analítico conocido como “triangulación” integra fuentes múltiples de datos para mejorar la comprensión de un problema de salud pública y guiar la toma de decisiones programática con el fin de abordar dichos problemas.
Los funcionarios de salud pública pueden emplear la triangulación para evaluar el impacto de las intervenciones ampliamente implementadas a nivel de la población. Mientras que la investigación busca responder definitivamente una hipótesis previamente formada, la triangulación busca fortalecer las interpretaciones y mejorar las decisiones fundamentadas en pruebas disponibles. La triangulación no infiere causalidad, mas ofrece una explicación o interpretación racional de los datos disponibles.

Health Situation in The Americas: Health Indicators 2009

Chronic noncommunicable diseases currently are reaching epidemic proportions in the Americas and are contributing substantially to overall mortality and disease burden in the Region. They result from complex and dynamic socially determined health processes, including epidemiological and demographic transitions. Once thought to be an issue primarily affecting the older population in high-income countries, chronic noncommunicable diseases are now affecting younger population segments and the poor in the lower-income countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. 

Health in the Americas, 2007

PAHO/WHO quinquenial report on health conditions and trends in the Region of the Americas. It offers an updated, comprehensive presentation of the health situation throughout the hemisphere generally and specifically in the 46 countries and territories of the Americas,and it describes and analyzes the progress, constraints, and challenges of PAHO Member States in their efforts to improve the health of the peoples of the Region.

Health Statistics from the Americas, 2006 Edition is the sixth in a series begun in 1991 to complement the quadrennial publication Health in the Americas.

This is the second edition to be produced only in an electronic format, and includes a special topic on the ten leading causes of death in 31countries of the Americas.
