The first subregional meeting on CNCD surveillance was organized for the Andean region with the presence of the Andean Health Organism (Organismo Andino de Salud /ORAS). Among the participants were representatives from the Ministries of Health of Peru and Ecuador, the National Institute of Health (Instituto Nacional de Salud / INS) of Colombia, the Andean Health Organism, and PAHO. The participants reached consensus in that the Director of ORAS to propose the formation of a CNCD surveillance working group and its integration into the ORAS agenda during the next CARMEN Biennal meeting, on October 2009.
