Strengthening CNCD Surveillance, Andean Countries (Quito, April 2009)

CNCD Surveillance, Andean countriesThe first subregional meeting on CNCD surveillance was organized for the Andean region with the presence of the Andean Health Organism (Organismo Andino de Salud /ORAS). Among the participants were representatives from the Ministries of Health of Peru and Ecuador, the National Institute of Health (Instituto Nacional de Salud / INS) of Colombia, the Andean Health Organism, and PAHO. The participants reached consensus in that the Director of ORAS to propose the formation of a CNCD surveillance working group and its integration into the ORAS agenda during the next CARMEN Biennal meeting, on October 2009.
