The Northeast of Chaco, Paraguay, is part of the project  "Improved Health and increased protection from Communicable Diseases for women, children and excluded populations in Latin America and the Caribbean." This project aims to Strengthened health systems based on primary health care, and this community, of about 20,000 people, are beneficiaries of this purpose.

This initiative is a joint effort of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA-Canada) and its goal is to improve the health situation of children and excluded populations with a specific focus on women and girls, complementing the efforts of the national, departmental and local government.
