On July 17th PAHO staff met with Monsignor Robert J. Vitillo, Head of the International Delegation, Special Advisor on HIV and AIDS for Caritas Internationalis, at its headquarters, in Washington, D.C.  Caritas Internationalis has an official status as an NGO with WHO, counts with 165 members and works in seven regions of the world.  This organization has worked since 1987 in the fight against HIV, making it the first Faith Based Organization (FBO) to deal with this topic.   The meeting sought to encourage future cooperation among PAHO Country Offices and FBOs, by participating in national and regional events.
