San Salvador, 30 July 2012 (PAHO/WHO)—Authorities from El Salvador's Ministry of Health (MINSAL), institutions associated with the Safe Motherhood Initiative (Pan American Health Organization - PAHO, the United Nations Fund for Children - UNICEF, the U.N. Population Fund - UNFPA, the Regional Working Group to reduce maternal mortality - GTR, and the Center for Perinatology and Women's Health - CLAP/SMR) opened the Regional Symposium on Best Practices of the Safe Motherhood Initiative (IMS) to be held from 30 to 31 July 2012.
