From May 7th to 10th a workshop for EVIPnet facilitators took place in the premises of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. The facilitators are key to the support that the EVIPNet initiative requires accompanying countries' teams from the first workshop, to raise awareness of what EVIPNet is, to implementation of deliberative dialogues, and going through the development and publication of policy briefs. The workshop was sponsored by the Alliance for Research Policy and Systems Health and was coordinated by Tomas Pantoja and Evelina Chapman.

NATIONAL POLICY DIALOGUE

Chile's team recently published a policy brief "Financing options for the treatment of rare diseases".
The Policy brief, “Financing options for the treatment of rare diseases in Chile” completed by the Chilean EVIPNet team has been published and delivered to the authorities in the health sector. On the basis of the policy brief a Deliberative Dialogue was organized during which policy decision makers from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, National Health Fund (FONASA), and the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency met to deliberate on the problem, on options for addressing it, and to discuss key implementation considerations.
