PAHO is currently searching for a highly qualified Human Resources Manager, who will be responsible for managing the Human Resources of the Management (HRM) area. The Organization has engaged Michael Page International Executive Search Firm to accept and screen applications and recommend candidates to the Director of Administration (AM).
Within the PAHO/WHO and UN policy framework, the Manager of Human Resources Management is responsible for providing advice to the Director of Administration (AM) and Executive Management on human resources management and for establishing and implementing policies, systems, and procedures in order to improve organizational efficiency. Reporting to the Director of Administration, the incumbent plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate the human resources program of PAHO, involving human resources planning; recruitment; selection; appointment; placement; classification; salary, benefits and entitlements administration; performance evaluation; staff development and orientation; staff well-being; and other elements of managing human resources.
The position is graded at the D-1 level and it is based in Washington, DC.
The successful candidate must have expert knowledge in the field of human resources management, administration of matters requiring sensitive negotiation and political high level interventions; and in institutional and organizational development. S/he must have knowledge and experience in the management of corporate personnel information systems in coordination with the respective business process owners. S/he must have extensive progressive experience at a senior decision-making level, in particular in managing complex administrative programs both at national and international levels.
