cover_reforma_sub_andina_sp.jpgThe present analysis is based on the information contained in the section on monitoring and evaluation in the second edition of the Profiles of Health Systems and Services. The first analysis of the dynamic (phases and principal actors) and content of health sector reform in six countries (Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela) which comprise the Andean Health Body of the Hipólito Unanue Agreement was completed in 2001.

The information for the analysis was included in the section corresponding to the first edition of the Profiles of the Health Systems and Services. The second edition was published between April 2001 and May 2002. Based on the recently concluded second edition of the Profiles, the following is an updated analysis of health sector reform, which includes new information from the documents mentioned.
