Health in the Americas, 2007
PAHO/WHO quinquenial report on health conditions and trends in the Region of the Americas. It offers an updated, comprehensive presentation of the health situation throughout the hemisphere generally and specifically in the 46 countries and territories of the Americas,and it describes and analyzes the progress, constraints, and challenges of PAHO Member States in their efforts to improve the health of the peoples of the Region.

Las Enfermedades Isquemicas del Corazón (EIC) son la primera causa de defunicón en la Región de las Americas.
En el año 2007, las EIC causaron:
- 662,011 defunciones, 13% del total de defunciones de las Americas
- 255,586 defunciones, 9.6% del total de defunciones en America latina y el Caribe
