The information is obtained from official websites of the Ministries of Health of the countries of the Americas and information submitted by the International Health Regulations (IHR) National Focal Points Summary of the current situationAs of 30 June 2009, a total of 56,147 confirmed cases of the influenza A (H1N1)pdm, including 317 deaths, have been notified in 29 countries of the Americas. The following overseas territories have confirmed cases of influenza A (H1N1)pdm: Bermuda, UK Overseas Territory (1); Cayman Islands, UK Overseas Territory (9); British Virgin Islands, UK Overseas Territory (1); Martinique, French Overseas Community (2); Netherlands Antilles, Curaçao: (7)(*); and Netherlands Antilles, St. Maarten (7). WHO is not recommending any travel restrictions related to the Pandemic H1N1 2009. (*) Three confirmed cases were registered on a cruise ship. In the Americas Region, there were additional 381 confirmed cases and 6 deaths compared to previous day. Uruguay notified its first confirmed death caused by the influenza A (H1N1)pdm.
