Experts discuss policy measures to control and prevent co-infection of HIV and viral hepatitis

In Latin America and the Caribbean there is limited knowledge about the extent of co-infection of viral hepatitis and HIV, even though they have similar epidemiological characteristics, so strategic measures are needed to prevent and control the problem, said yesterday a group of experts on the panel convened by the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) as part of the XIX International AIDS Conference held in Washington, DC.
