The Americas advanced in development in recent years, but health still has major challenges pending, said the Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Dr. Mirta Roses Periago, in a presentation on 4 June at the School of Medicine of the Universidad Federal de Bahía (UFBA), Brasil, on "Health in the Americas: from the Unfinished Agenda to New Challenges."
