Treatment success rate for new pulmonary smear-positive tb casesSituation: The mean of treatment success rate for new pulmonary smear-positive tb cases in the region of the Americas in 2009 was 80% with a wide interval of 46% Argentina (worse situation) to 100% Barbados and Dominica. |
Nine countries --Dominican republic, Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras, Bolivia, El Salvador, Cuba, Barbados and Dominica-- are in the best situation with rates from 85 to 100.
Trend: In the Region of the Americas this indicator slightly increased over time in most of the countries.
