The call for nominations for the 2012 PAHO/PAHEF Awards for Excellence in Inter American Public Health is now open. Information regarding the awards and the nomination process can be found on the PAHEF Web site at: www.pahef.org/awards. This is an excellent opportunity for researchers and public health professionals in your country to receive recognition throughout the Region for their achievements in the field of health.

We request your assistance to encourage applications from individuals affiliated with universities, hospitals, medical associations, patient groups, research centers, ministries of health and agriculture, and non-governmental organizations eligible to submit a bid for one of these awards. We would greatly appreciate if you could also include information about the awards , the deadline for receipt of the nominations, and a link to the PAHEF page on the Web site of the Representation.

Nominations can be submitted electronically at the above Web site link. The deadline to submit nominations is July 20, 2012 at 5 p.m. Washington, DC time. 

We hope you will take part in the awards program in 2012 by allowing PAHO and PAHEF to recognize the achievements in public health of the citizens of your country.
