PHOTO CONTEST EXTENDED TO 31 MAY

ProPAN was developed to provide ministries of health, NGOs, and international organizations with a tool to design, implement, and evaluate interventions and programs to improve infant and young child diet and feeding. It includes 1) a field manual with step-by-step guidelines on how to apply quantitative and qualitative research methods; 2) an Epi Info™-based software program for data entry and analysis; and 3) a software user’s guide.

ProPAN provides:

  • A process for identifying dietary and feeding problems in a target population.
  • A method for formulating, ranking, and selecting dietary and feeding recommendations.
  • Print and electronic forms for data collection.
  • Software for standardized output of anthropometric, diet and feeding information.
  • Guidance on how to convert the information into an intervention or program.

The Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contributed to this effort.  Funded in part by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN).
