This newest revision follows the easy-to-use format of earlier editions, but also includes 11 new chapters reflecting changing public health needs. These address such issues as public health security in a globalized world; disease control after natural disasters and in complex humanitarian emergencies; disease alert and response during mass gatherings; response to deliberately caused outbreaks; mass vaccination in public health; and risk assessment, management, and communication during a disease outbreak.
