WHY: Cancer and other chronic diseases are taking a growing toll on the health and lives of people in Latin America and the Caribbean. Yes many of these diseases are partly preventable. The Regional Summary of the AICR report Policy and Action for Cancer Prevention makes recommendations on policies and actions that individuals, organizations, and governments in Latin America and the Caribbean can carry out to prevent a significant portion of chronic diseases.
