| NIIW/VWA U.S.-Mexico Border Main Inaugural Event |
Tucson, Arizona. The inaugural event was held on Tuesday April 26th, 2011 at the El Rio Community Health Center in Tucson, Arizona with the participation of Dr. Melinda Wharton (CDC National Center for Immunization Deputy Director), Dr. Jon Andrus (PAHO/WHO Deputy Director), Dr. Maria Gudelia Rangel Gómez (Comprehensive Strategy for Migrant Health, Coordinator- representing Mexico Health Secretaty Cordova), Dr. José Jesús Bernardo Campillo Garcia (Secretary of Public Health State of Sonora, México), Dr. Will Humble (Arizona Department of Health Services Director), Dan Reyna (USMBHC US Section General Maanger), Dr. Maria Teresa Zorrilla (USMBHC MX Section Executive Secretary), Dr Maria Teresa Cerqueira (PAHO/WHO U.S.-Mexico Border Office Chief), among others federal, county and city political and health officials. All of who expressed the importance of multisectorial and binational collaboration in campaigns like this to reach the community with a stronger message.
