On 23 March 2011, PAHO's Assistant Director, Dr. Socorro Gross, participated in a meeting of the National Council of Secretaries of Health of Brazil (CONASS), which took place in Brasilia with the participation of 27 State Secretaries of Health. Dr. Gross spoke to the participants about the health situation of the Americas.

This activity is part of a mission of PAHO Headquarters managers to the PAHO/WHO Office in Brazil intended to fully align the Organization's agendas with the plans and objectives of the new Brazilian health authorities.
