Member States in the Americas Region have elaborated and implemented national plans of preparedness for influenza pandemics which are intended to guide national strategies in the areas of planning and coordination; situation monitoring and assessment; prevention and containment; health system response; and communications.
National plans look to harmonize national and international preparedness and response activities before and during influenza pandemics.
