| Maternal and Infant Health of indigenous and afro poulations in Latin America: Rework from a rights perspective |
The objective of this book is to provide a regional framework on maternal and infant health of indigenous and afro poulations. Information collected from the census in 2000 and from specific health surveys was used to develop this document.
It is expected that this publication will be used as a key tool for evaluating and monitoring health programs and policies of indigenous and afro populations, as well as for elaborating proposals that consider these populations' rights to enhance their health.
This document was developed in the framework of the Agreement of collaboration between the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLA), through the CELADE-Populations Division, and the Work Plan 2009 CEPAL/CELADE-UNFPA.
