The Red Cochrane Iberoamericana trains people to use and produce research evidence summaries, conduct research evidence searches, and appraise scientific papers. They do this efficiently with a global and well coordinated network across the region. They deliver their support in the four languages of the region and are excellent at developing methodological work.

Cochrane – PAHO Award 2013

The subject of the 2013 award is Prevention of chronic noncommunicable diseases through healthy lifestyles. This award aims to promote research on healthy lifestyles as a means of preventing noncommunicable diseases and will be awarded to a systematic review and protocol that answer questions about prevention of chronic noncommunicable diseases that are relevant to the Americas. • Cochrane Colloquium: The 19th Cochrane Colloquium, themed “Scientific Evidence for Health Care Quality and Patient Safety,” witnessed a strong, Latin American presence in Madrid. From the invitation to Dr. Roses to be a panelist in the opening general assembly and Luis Gabriel Cuervo and Ludovic Reveiz participating in the scientific committee of the Colloquium, to the delivery of the PAHO – Cochrane award during the closing ceremony the Colloquium offered PAHO an opportunity to share space and network with strategic partners such as Instituto Carlos III, AECID, LATINCLEN, RIMAIS, Equator, etc. In an intense week, the research team coordinated a number of workshops, participated in several working sessions, and presented five posters
