On 7 April, PAHO will celebrate World Health Day under the theme of Urbanization and Health. As part of this celebration, PAHO is launching the I Hispano-American and Inter-American Contest of Best Practices in Urbanization and Health.

The Call for Submissions will be open from 10 February to 19 March, 2010. We kindly request your collaboration in sharing this announcement with other social, governmental, non-governmental and private groups and institutions that are involved in projects and initiatives that contribute to urban health and encourage them to participate in the contest.

We also request that this announcement be disseminated as much as possible since our goal is to have at least one Best Practice experience entry per each one of the main cities in the region.  Five of the Best Practices in Urbanization and Health will be awarded a prize and we hope that one of them is presented by you.
