El Paso, TX, June 1st, 2012 (PAHO/WHO) –On the occasion of International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression which is celebrated every June 4 and is intended to recognize the pain suffered by children around the world who are victims of physical, mental and emotional pain, the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) United States-Mexico Border Office will hold the conference:
COMPLEX POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS AND NEURO TRAUMA DEVELOPMENT IN CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE

This conference will give way to the opening of the workshop: "Psychological trauma and complex posttraumatic stress in childhood and adolescence" to be held from June 5 to 8, 2012, at the Centro de Justicia para las Mujeres from 9:00 AM to 3 : 00 PM.
The workshop aims to find coping strategies, evaluation and treatment for disorders associated with posttraumatic spectrum in children and adolescents. Also among the topics to be offered are: Human response before critical situations or traumatic events, traumatic events before prenatal experience of critical incidents, disorders related to violence and traumatic events and posttraumatic spectrum children.
