Nonviolence and Conflict Resolution Workshop May 8 – 12, 2012 8:00 am - 2:00 pm Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez (Biblioteca Central) Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua. The workshop’s objective is to learn to recognize the causes of conflict in order to define in what cases is appropriate to use the tool of negotiation to resolve them. Besides knowing the steps of negotiation from an approach that seeks creative solutions to meet the interests of all stakeholders and foster long-term collaborative relationships. The workshop will consist of two sessions of 8 hours for each of the three groups in which they used specific case studies, interactive exhibitions and routines suitable for the process of conflict resolution without violence.
The VIP Project Work plan is based on the public health approach towards violence prevention, emphasizing in civil rights and a human security perspective that engages health, social development, education, urban planning, transit and public safety stakeholders. A core element of the VIP Project is the Observatory for Security and Citizen Conviventiality of the Juarez Municipality, in addition the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez (UACJ), the Mexico Ministry of Health’s CONAPRA, the Municipal Institute for Research and Planning (IMIP) the North Border College (COLEF), Ciudad Juarez Campus, Municipal Transit and Police, state and local health and education authorities among other stakeholders in Ciudad Juarez.
The Center for Civic Collaboration (CCC) is a nonpartisan and nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a culture and capacity for dialogue, cooperation and peaceful approach to conflict in Mexico, and enable change processes via the plural dialogue promote the strengthening of democracy, sustainable development and the rule of law. The CCC is part of an international network of organizations dedicated to peaceful conflict resolution called Partners for Democratic Change International (PDCI).
