El Paso, TX, April 9, 2012 (PAHO/WHO) – As part of World Activity Day for the second consecutive year the educational program "Food and play give health to your life" or in Spanish “Juego y comida dan salud a tu vida” in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO) U.S.-Mexico Border Office invite to the movement "Together for an active and happy life" with a call in elementary schools in Mexico.
Juego y comida invites children, families, institutions and schools to register their physical activities, describe, document and send them to share their experiences throughout the month of April 2012. All persons who submit evidence of their work will receive a certificate of participation that will send them by email. The call is open until April 30, 2012.
ABOUT JUEGO Y COMIDA
"Juego y Comida dan salud a tu vida" is a Civil Association that spans more than one hundred public elementary schools, 34 000 children and 1568 teachers in eight states of our country: Sinaloa, Coahuila, Durango, Jalisco, Estado de Mexico, Distrito Federal, Veracruz and Tabasco. Its main objectives are to promote adequate nutrition amongst the Mexican youth, especially the consumption of vegetables, fruits and water, and being physically active.
