Executive committee for Violence and Injury Prevention Project phase II is established |

The objective of the second phase of the VIP Project is to create an inter-sectoral and multidisciplinary model for violence and injury prevention in Ciudad Juárez creating a safety and healthy community that can be replicated in other U.S.-Mexico border cities. Lic. Jaime Muñoz Reyes, representative from the Ciudad Juárez Municipal Presidency, Dr. René Soto Cavazos, from the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), Dr. Salvador Calderón from the State Health Secretariat, Dr. Maria Teresa Cerqueira, Chief from the PAHO/ WHO U.S.-Mexico Border Office, and Dr. Arturo Cervantes Trejo, from the National Council for Accident Prevention were selected as the Executive VIP Committee. One of the immediate jobs for the executive committee will be to strengthen the Observatory capacity to expand participant institutions and to rely on information that can influence decision makers.
