Teenagers from Sonora and Baja California learned about leadership and environmental care during National Adolescence Week

Ensenada, Baja California/Hermosillo,Sonora, MX., September 19, 2011 (PAHO/WHO) – National Adolescence Week in Mexico was celebrated from September 19 to 23rd. During this week two leadership workshops in which about 238 young leaders from Baja California and Sonora, Mexico had the opportunity to attend. The Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/ WHO) United States-Mexico Border Office in collaboration with the Health Secretariats from Sonora and Baja California, along with the National Health Center for the Childhood and Adolescence were in charge of these workshops that took place in the cities of Hermosillo and Pótam in Sonora and in Ensenada, Baja California on September 20th and 22nd respectively. Some of the topics discussed during this week were: environmental care, accident prevention, and violence prevention in a love relationship.
