PAHO Director: Gender Inequality is Completely Unacceptable

More than a third of women in Latin America and the Caribbean have suffered violence at the hands of their domestic partners, more than 22,000 die each year in childbirth from preventable causes, and women and girls account for a growing proportion of all new cases of HIV. (10/Mar/2008)
