Goal Description:

To increase and improve the quality of healthy life years and to reduce the health disparities in the U.S.-Mexico Border Area, in accordance with the Healthy Border 2010 Agenda.

 

Purpose Description:   

Contribute to strengthening of epidemiological information systems and build the evidence to support public health policies along the U.S.-Mexico Border Region.

Indicators

1.1   Contribute to enhanced capacity of U.S.-Mexico institutions, in integrated health information systems on the Border.

 

Number of pairs of sister cities and other cross border collaboration groups with enhanced information systems

 

Number of Border States that receive technical cooperation to strengthen tools and processes in monitoring of communicable diseases.

 

 

1.2   Contribute to increased knowledge and application of the International Health Regulations (IHR).

 

Number of sister cities, (counties, municipalities and other cross border collaboration groups) with core capacities required by IHR

 

Number  of pairs of sister cities and other institutions of the early warning system applying the IHR

 

 

1.3   Counties/Municipalities and other cross border collaboration groups supported to develop monitoring and evaluation instruments.

 

Integrated binational information system for the Border at state level and horizontally across the Border, strengthened with communication, coordination and linkages
